My Mac palette

Hello everyone, today i am going to be telling you about My Mac eyeshadow palette. Now i know that anyone who is in love with beauty has a Mac palette and i have to raise my hand and say that i now have one too. I already had an empty four pan palette ( i bet you guys know what its like, you have to fill a palette, dont you?). So i decided to take the plonge and purchase some, i only had one Mac eyeshadow prior to this, which was espresso (i use this to fill in my brows). The only thing that held me back from buying Mac eyeshadows before was the price, and to be honest they are really quite expensive at £10 each in pan form. I already owned the Urban decay Naked 2 palette, so i didn't really need these eyeshadows, but i really did want them (you know how it is). So this was a purchase i made in November when Debenhams had 10% off, which i suppose makes the price a little bit better. The shades i chose were Brule, Naked lunch, Quarry and Mulch. These eyeshadows are really lovely and are very nicely pigmented, but the question is are they better than my Urban Decay ones. The answer is simply no, not really i would say they are both equally pigmented but the main thing that highers Urban Decay in my opinon is the price, their eyeshadows work out so much cheaper, so that is why they top Mac eyeshadows to me. But i will admit i do still really do love my Mac ones especially Quarry (favourite status over here), but the others i would day are comparable to the Urban Decay and other cheaper brands.

Here are the swatches-

As you can see they are actually incredibly pigmented, and lovely. In a nutshell i would repurchase them, even at full price, my only gripe is that you can get so much more for you money (ie-Urban decay, MUA) so essentially what i'm saying is that if you want some Mac eyeshadows then buy them you won't regret it, but you may feel a little 'hard done by' if to you £40 of makeup if expensive for eyeshadows.

MUA 'Best and Worst'

Hi guys today post is going to be a long one (aka a picture heavy post) about the Best and Worst of MUA. Now i will admit i haven't tried everything from MUA, but i have tried my fair share of their products. Some of them great and others not so much 'hence the name Best and Worst'. Many of you will know that MUA provides mostly good quality makeup at affordable prices, ranging from £1-£8 ish.
I'll get the worst stuff out of the way first-
The first one being the MUA powders, now i have two of these powders and they retail for £1 each. I first picked up the shade 3, big mistake as it was way too dark, so i thought i would pick up the lighter version of shade1. When i got this product home shade 1 is lighter than shade 3 but they are both utterly orange and i am not the palest people by any means, so as you can assume my dispointment with these. Also from swatching the powders i found out the texture of these powders, they are really quite chalky and don't blend out nicely onto the skin. So that is why these are 'thumbs down' from me.

The sencond worst products are two lipsticks, now don't get me wrong i do love the MUA lipsticks but just not these shades. As they retail for £1, it is not a major loss that i don't like them, but anyway. The shades in particular are shade 4 and shade 12.

Shade 4 unlike all the other MUA lipsticks is really sheer, quite a nice formula(like all the MUA lipsticks) but as this is a barbie pink colour i was expecting an intense pink and it was not so that is why it is quite disapointing. However if you did want a sheer bright pink this may be something for you to check out, but personally for me it was not what i wanted. The second shade is shade 12 and the reason i don't like this is because it is a fully glitter lipstick, and in my opinion looks horrible on my lips. Now when i say full of glitter, i mean full of glitter it is like just throwing silver glitter all over your with a little hint of coral in there. I would compare this to the limited edition Mac dazzle lipsticks, but i personally don't like the feeling of this on my lips as it feels 'bitty' (is what even a word?). So again that is why these lipsticks are a 'thumbs down' from me, but just because i don't like them it doesn' t mean you wouldn't.

Now onto the 'Best' products, In a nutshell these products are amazing for the price, and they are also very comparable to many highend products (blogpost to come soon on a MUA dupe for a highend brand).
The first products up are the MUA undress your skin shimmer highlighter £3, basically this is amazing (see review here-http://beautybyalicex.blogspot.co.uk) Then there is the MUA cream blush in the shade dolly, this is not cream to powder so it lasts on your skin all day (watch this space for a full review) Then finally is a new product to me is the MUA mosaic bronzer shade2, this is amazing and so pretty, especially at £2.50.
The next product is the MUA one direction 'what makes you beautiful' cheek tint, £3. now i am not a one diretion obsessor but i don't mind them. I found this when looking for a cheek tint in a tube like this one, after reading reviews on the revlon ones not being very good, i swatched this one and decided to give it a go. I was so impressed i now want to pick up more shades, this is on the shade- rose riot.

These are the lipsticks i love, these retail for £1(what???? crazy) i have the shades shown above. These are incredibly pigmented and creamy, they are not drying at all and suprisingly last for quite a long time, what can i say i love them and because they are £1 you can pick bold and crazy colours and it doesn't matter if you only wear it once a month. If you wanted to buy one of these, i would totally recommend you do, and you won't regret it i hope.
Next up is the eyeshadow, and i can truely say that these are amazing, and one of them is a lovely dupe for macs club. The formulation of them is great as they are so creamy and blendable. I would say they are slightly better quality than the ones that come in the palettes but hey ho.

I have the old packaging for the nail polishes and the new ones, ( dont the new one's look like essie's polishes) i have the shade R-L amaretto crush, pistachio ice cream and natural days. I would say that these are opaque in 2-3 coats, so similar to you average nail polish except the fact that these are £1. I honestly really do like these and that is why they are one of the 'best' products.
These are the MUA lip liners, i have the shades Red drama and brooding plum. They are so creamy and not really drying to say they are lip liners, they are also £1 again, so you can't not right?
And finally is the £4 eyeshadow palettes, there are 12 eyeshadows in these beauts. This is the undress me palette and is dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palette, but just a lot, lot cheaper. And since i don't wear eyeshadow everyday, this little bargain is the perfect price and quality for me.
So that pretty much sums up all the MUA products that i have tried, i will hopefully try more. Also for the products that i didnt't review fully i will hopefully do full reviews on them. I hope you enjoyed a little look into the MUA products i consider the 'Best and Worst'.

Review- MUA mosaic bronzer

Hi guys todays post is going to be a review on the MUA mosaic 'blush/ bronzer hybrid thing' in the shade 2. I purchased the item in question only very recently, thus infering i have only used it for a few times, but i can honestly say i really do love it.

( I am wearing the MUA blush/bronzer here, by the way the lippy is the Revlon matte balm in 205 Elusive)

As this little beauty retails for £2.50, it makes my overall opinion of the product even better, but to be truthful i would of purchased this even if it was £20, (that is how much i love it). This paticular product for me does the sculpting, like a bronzer does, the hint of pink/mauve, like a blush does and then it gives a slight sheen, like a highlighter does. So basically its a 3 in one, so it makes this an excellent product to use if your in time pinch (aren't we all, i always seem to be anyway). Plus this would be great for travel as it has everything in one and because it is not very expensive, if it were to get broken, it is easily replaced. One thing i have to mention is that quite suprisingly this lasts on my skin nearly all day, which most blushers/ bronzers rarely do. I also think that you would be able to use the shades in this compact as eyeshadows, which then makes this product even more multi-use. Overall i think that this is a fabulous cheek product, which i think a lot of you would enjoy, so if you would like to try it, please do, i personally 100% recommend it, especially for people with pale skin.

Review- The best eyeliner EVER (aka L'oreal super liner perfect slim)

Hi guys todays post is going to be a review of the best eyeliner ever, bold claim i know, but i truely do love the stuff. The product in question is the L'oreal super liner perfect slim.

Now i purchased this eyeliner 8 months ago, and i only repurchased it recently as i had left the cap off and it dried up a bit, so thats why i bought a new one. This retails for £6.99. not a bad price for a amazing eyeliner. I remember the commotion when the L'oreal super liner carbon gloss was discontinued, but to be honest i think this is a way better version. As you can see from the swatches you can have a thick line or a thin line, also with this thin nib you are able to get the most perfect of flicks. The liner lasts all day and it always looks intense and black, can you tell that i love this. Even if you are not the most skilled at eyeliner (raises hand) the nib on this makes the application so easy.
As you can probebly tell i would 100% recommend this item, if you like liquid eyeliner or would like to try it.
Here's where you can buy this beauty-http://www.superdrug.com/loreal/superliner-perfect-slim/

If you have tried this eyeliner, or would like to please tell me in the comments.

Review- Revlon matte balms

Hi guys today post is going to be another review, i know the third one in a row, but its just that i have so much to tell you about the new beauty products i have. Any who on to the product- the items in question are the new Revlon matte balm, yes i know a matte balm (i'm all ears) i personally love the concept of this product, as i love matte lipsticks, but most of them tend to be a little drying and that is why Revlons new matte balm had me puzzled.

After trying two of these beauty's i can honestly say i love them, they are not  drying at all and the pigment of the lipsticks is amazing. Plus they stick around for quite a while on your lips. These gorgeous lippy's retail for £7.99 (boots have 3 for 2 on at the moment) so the price is the average price for a drugstore lip product, but to be honest i would of paid a lot more for these, if i had too. There is a quite nice mint scent to these, but unlike their ancestors the Revlon balm stains it is not over powering, just a lovely subtle mint scent. In this particular range i picked up the shade 205 elusive and 225 sultry as these (apart from the nude) were the most natural shade, however the range does have a lot of bright and colourful shades too, so these is really something for everyone. Also if you dont like matte lipsticks Revlon have also launched a lacquer balms too.

Review- Sleek face form

Hi guys todays post is another review (yet again, sorry if this is not your kind of thing). Now i picked this product up in superdrug last week. The product in question is the Sleek face form kit in light, after seeing many rave reviews in the beauty community, i decided to pick this up and give it a try.

Now as you can see from the swatches, the products are incredibly pigmented. This product is designed to have all you need for cheek products, which would be excellent for travel. The contour is excellent and is not too muddy or too orange, its the perfect colour in my opinion. The highlighter is lovely and the blush is a perfect dupe for Nars orgasm, however i would say that you need to use a heavy hand when applying this as with a light hand not much product picks up. I still love this little kit so much and it has been my got to cheek combo as of recent. This product retails for £9.99, which for 3 lovely products is great value. The packaging also feels 'sleek' and substancial, which i think makes this an even greater product, and i would totally recommend this to anyone who is looking for an amazing cheek kit.

Review- MUA undress your skin shimmer highlighter

Hi guys todays post is going to be a review, the product in question is the 'MUA undress your skin shimmer highlighter'. I picked this up on a recent shopping trip to superdrug (when am i ever not shopping), after seeing this a lot in the online world of beauty. This beauty retails for £3, (what????, an absolute bargain in my opinion).

As you can see from the images above, it is incredibly pigmented, with no glitter particle just shimmer, which makes it look just beautiful on your skin. This product gives an amazing glow, which i personally love. If you are looking for a cheap highlighter i would completly recommend this one.
